Experience Springtime in Maine at The Black Point Inn: Just 2 Hours from Boston

Front Porch at the Black Point Inn

The Black Point Inn is opening for its 130th consecutive season on Friday, May 9th (Mother’s Day weekend).  Bring Mom, or the whole family, and help us celebrate (See our Mother's Day Menu). You will sleep in accommodations overlooking the ocean and eat in our four-star oceanside restaurant, The Point.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to explore Portland, Maine's harbor side cultural, dining, and economic hub while staying at The Black Point Inn.  Maine's largest city, Portland, is perched on a peninsula overlooking Casco Bay.

Portland seamlessly blends old and new to create a rich, urban environment.  History enthusiasts will find the cobblestone streets of Old Port and the many museums nearby irresistible.  Teeming with a mix of eclectic boutiques and fine restaurants, the city offers all the amenities of its larger urban counterparts without crowds.  Southern coastal Maine and its leading city, Portland, offer the unique combination of rustic charm and the sophisticated pleasures one expects to find in a bustling metropolis.

Select the Black Point Inn as your Maine Coast destination and enjoy the best of both worlds - the opportunity to experience our unmatched natural beauty and endless recreation with access to Portland minutes away.  The Black Point Inn is just 15 minutes to the Jetport or the Old Port.

The Black Point Inn was selected by National Geographic Traveler Magazine’s first ever "Stay List."

What is the Stay List?

national geographic stay list The Black Point Inn has been named one of 150 top hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean by National Geographic Traveler magazine.  The hotels chosen are the best at blending location-inspired architecture, reflect “a sense of place,” ambience, eco-stewardship, and an ethic of giving back to the community.  The winners were named to the magazine's first Stay List based on input from local experts and seasoned travelers, and detailed questionnaires to nominated hotels.

Located within easy driving distance of Boston, Hartford, New York City, and Manchester, southern coastal Maine remains unspoiled.  Scenic byways lined with forests are dotted with charming villages waiting to be explored. Black Point Inn’s sandy beaches and beautiful coastline is a favorite destination for those who enjoy Oceanside golf, tennis, walking miles of beautiful beaches, bicycling country roads along the myriad tidal estuaries adjacent to the Inn.  Hiking and nature enthusiasts will love the rugged terrain, Oceanside cliff walk, and wildlife sanctuaries.
